The Reckoning

The Amaris Prophecies, Book Three

In The Amaris Prophecies: The Reckoning the magical realm of Amaris faces its darkest hour. Queen Sathariel, the ancient fallen entity embodying concealment and Resha (the corrupting dark force), has risen stronger than ever after her earlier imprisonment in the Fylakistone. Having broken the bonds of death, she now commands an immortal army of undead soldiers—once-living boys from the Rehmat (Spirit People) clan, transformed through horrific “kisses” by Malevolents that drain their souls, leaving husks to serve her will.

The story opens in the nightmarish Mines of the Malevolents, where enslaved Rehmat boys, including fifteen-year-old Husam (Arabic for “sharp sword”), toil endlessly to mine avinash—the one indestructible metal capable of destroying Sathariel. Husam, secretly the prophesied Chosen destined to defeat the queen and restore balance, hides his golden eyes (the mark of his identity) with a vial of concealing liquid given by his mother. Tormented by doubt, suffering, and the Divine’s apparent silence, he witnesses the queen’s ritual: Malevolents drain selected boys’ life force, turning them into soulless Revenir (undying puppets) for her growing army. This horror ignites Husam’s defiance and leadership; he vows to his fellow prisoners to find escape and thwart Sathariel’s plans.

Meanwhile, four teenagers from Earth—Nadia (hope), Afsana (story), Oke (strength), and Minji (clever/quick-witted)—are strangers from different countries, each grappling with personal struggles and isolation. Pulled through a Thura Gate (a portal) into Amaris by the Yasha Prophecy, they discover they are the prophesied saviors meant to aid the Chosen. United despite cultural differences and fears, they must locate and secure three legendary magical weapons: the Sword of Rajwa (hope), the Shield of Aeras (air), and others implied in the quest, which no previous seekers have survived retrieving.

Guided by faithful Divine Interpreters like Salaun (peace), Verena (integrity), and others, and allied with Amaris’s diverse clans (Vanavasin forest dwellers, Taura mountain people, Caelum Bellator dragon riders, Hayim plains warriors, and the Rehmat under Imamu Njeri from earlier books), the four Yasha embark on perilous journeys across dying landscapes. They confront Sathariel’s Dark Forces—Malevolents, Obscura, and the undead army—while Husam endures captivity, gathers intelligence, and sparks resistance among the enslaved.

The climax unfolds in a massive final battle as Sathariel unleashes her full might, including the colossal Leviathan beast summoned from the depths. The heroes must overcome division, doubt, and personal trials to unite in a circle of power. Husam, freed and embracing his destiny, wields the Sword of Rajwa against the queen. With the Yasha completing their formation—despite last-minute peril—and allies channeling Ruach (the breath of life), they shatter Sathariel’s hold. Kaluduta (winged messengers of the Divine) descend, banishing the Leviathan and cleansing the battlefield with light.

In victory’s aftermath, Amaris begins healing. Husam accepts leadership, clans pledge unity, and the Fylakistone is secured in an impenetrable fortress (with Minji’s game-design ingenuity aiding defenses). The Earth teens return through the Thura Gate forever changed—stronger, more self-assured, and eternally linked to Amaris. Yet a lingering Malevolent escapes into the void, hinting that true darkness endures beyond Sathariel, setting the stage for future threats.

Blending high-stakes adventure, themes of faith, unity across differences, self-belief, and redemption through sacrifice, The Reckoning delivers a triumphant, emotionally resonant conclusion to the core trilogy arc while leaving room for Amaris’s ongoing story.
