Effective date: October 1, 2026
Hi, I'm Zoe Nauman, and this is my author website, authorzoenauman.com. I want you to feel safe here. This page explains, in plain English, what information I collect, why, and what choices you have.
What I collect and why
When you sign up for my emails. To get the free audiobook and my author newsletter, you give me your first name and email address. I use them to:
- send you the free audiobook you asked for
- send my author newsletter, book news, and updates
That's all. I don't ask for your address, phone number, or payment details, and I will never sell your information.
Double opt-in. After you sign up, you'll get an email asking you to confirm. Nothing else is sent until you do, so nobody can sign you up without your say-so.
When you just visit. Like most websites, this one automatically collects basic technical information, such as your browser type, device, the pages you view, and your approximate location. This keeps the site secure and working, and shows me which pages readers find useful.
The services that help run this site
A few trusted services help run this site and my newsletter. They only handle your information to provide their service:
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) stores my email list, including your first name and email address, and sends my emails.
- SiteGround hosts the website and runs security tools that help block spam and bots.
- WordPress and Divi are the software the site is built with.
- Analytics: I don't use Google Analytics or any other analytics or tracking tools on this site. If that ever changes, I'll update this policy first.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. This site may use:
- Essential cookies from WordPress and my host (SiteGround) that keep the site running, secure, and fast
- Analytics cookies, if analytics tools are in use (see above), that measure visits in general terms
- Embedded media cookies. Some pages may include content from other sites, like audio players or videos. Those services may set their own cookies and collect data as if you had visited their sites directly.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site should still work, though some features, like embedded audio, might not.
Teen readers and children's privacy
Many of my readers are teens, and I'm glad you're here! To sign up for my emails, you must be 13 or older. If you're younger than 13, please ask a parent or guardian to sign up for you.
I don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in line with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you're a parent or guardian and think your child under 13 has given me their information, please contact me at zoe@mediacontentguru.com and I'll delete it promptly.
How long I keep your information
I keep your name and email while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, the emails stop. If you'd like your details removed entirely, just ask.
Your choices and rights
It's your information, so you're in charge. You can:
- Unsubscribe anytime by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any email I send
- See your information by asking what I have on file about you
- Correct it if something is wrong, like a misspelled name
- Delete it by asking me to remove your information completely
Just email me at zoe@mediacontentguru.com. I'll respond as quickly as I can, and always within the time the law requires.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information I collect and how I use it, and to ask me to delete or correct it. You won't be treated differently for using these rights. I do not sell or share your personal information for advertising.
Readers in the EU and UK (GDPR): I use your name and email because you gave me your consent when you signed up, and you can withdraw that consent anytime by unsubscribing. You also have the right to access, correct, delete, or move your data, to object to or limit how it's used, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Some of the services I use are based in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed there.
Keeping your information safe
I use reputable services with strong security and only share your information as needed to run the site and newsletter. No website is 100% secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect what you share.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time, for example if I start using a new tool. When I do, I'll update the effective date above.
